Day 01 : Arrive
Delhi Arrive Delhi. Meeting and assistance on arrival. Transfer to hotel. Day 02 : Delhi Guided Tours Morning tour of Delhi visiting Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. Afternoon visit Qutub Minar built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibek in 1199, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate (War Memorial Arch), Lakshminarayan Temple - a modern Hindu Temple. Also drive past President's House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat Buildings and Connaught Place shopping centre. Later drive to agra Overnight agra Day 03 : Delhi - Agra After breakfast, city tour of Agra. Visit Red fort ( Also known as Agra Fort ), which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565, and additions were made up until the time of his grandson, Shah Jahan. It contains the hall of public and private audiences amongst many other beautiful structues; Itmad-ud-daulah, which was contructed by Nur Jahan between 1622 and 1628 and is very similar to the tomb she constructed for her husband, Jehangir, near Lahore in Pakistan; the highlight of the day - The Taj Mahal, which was constructed by Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Contruction of the Taj began in 1631 and was not completed until 1653. Afternoon Free Over night in Agra Day 04 : Agra Taj Tours - Jaipur After breakfast, leave for jaipur . Enroute visit the abandoned Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri : built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital of the Moghuls, which was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other Palaces which are still preserved in its original glory. Continue drive to jaipur. Overnight at the hotel Day 05 : Jaipur Cultural Tours Morning tour of the impressive Amber Fort, situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City. At the foot of the hill you will mount your caparisoned elephant for the slow but steady climb up to the main gate, making your entrance in the time honoured fashion. The Fort, completed in the early 18th century, took over 100 years to build and now, although deserted, offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Moghul ruling families. Afternoon tour of the City - "The Pink City" is spectacularly set within surrounding rugged hills, dotted with ancient ruined fortresses. Your tour will include the imposing City Palace, still home to the Maharaja although several of the rooms are now open to the public. Etc. Board the train : Heritage on wheels at 18. 30 hrs , the train leaves around 19. 30 hrs Over night in Board Day 06 : Bikaner 06:00 hrs: Arrival at Bikaner 07:00 hrs: Breakfast on board Heritage on Wheels. 08:30 hrs: Departure for sightseeing of Fort by air-conditioned coach. 11:00 hrs: Departure for Haat on board Heritage on Wheels. 12:15 hrs: Departure from Haat for Gajner. 13:15 hrs: Arrival at Gajner. 15:45 hrs: Lunch at Gajner and enjoy Camel Safari. 16:15 hrs: Arrival at Lal Garh Palace for Tea. 18:30 hrs: Arrival and Dinner on board Heritage on Wheels. 23:30 hrs: Departure for Tal Chhapar on board Heritage on Wheels. Day 07 : Taal Chhappar and Shekhawati Arrival at Padhiyar Railway Station at 0400 am. Depart at 0715 hrs for Tal Chhapar. Later continue to Ramgarh where the Mahansar Havelis are visited. From Mahansar proceed to Mandawa . Lunch is served at Mandawa Resort following which the group continues on to Nawalgarh. After sightseeing tour and High Tea at Nawalgarh return to the train at 1930. Dinner is served at 2000 hrs and the train departs for its return journey to Jaipur at 2230 hrs. Day 8 : Jaipur Arrival at Jaipur on Railway station at 0630 am. Breakfast is served on board and this magnificent journey through the open air art gallery of Rajasthan comes to an end. |
